Roulette History

The roulette takes its name from the French word ‘roulette’ which means ‘circle’. There is a supposition that the creator of the roulette was French philosophies of the 17th century, Pascal.

The win in the roulette is absolutely depends on the luck of player. You can’t influence on the result of its game.

The way of the Roulette game

The playing table consists of the rotated circle and playing field to make bets on it. The ball jumps on the rotated circle. The dealer counts the possible win of the player and watching the players. There can be any number of players, from 1 to 30. The dealer calculates the winner and gives an attention for all players. The dealer should be a very attentive and smart person to control all the players.

There are several kinds of roulette: European and American roulettes.

European Roulette

The playing circle has 37 numbered cells from 0(zero) to 36. All cells are black and red, but zero is neither black no red. The playing table has three columns of numbers from 1 to 36, making an arithmetic sequence. The numbers are either black or red color in correspondence with the roulette. The zero is above the columns. There are six playing fields next to the columns on both sides. Each filed has its own name from the list: ‘Even’, ‘Odd’, ‘1 to 18’, ‘18 to 36’, ‘Red’, ‘Black’. Bets situated on these fields are named “equal chances”. Below the fields having “equal chances” bets the bets on dozens are located. These fields names are: P12 – the first, M12 – the second, D12 – the third. The fields for the bets on the columns are situated under the numbered filed. There are two playing tables for the one playing roulette as usual. The sequence of numbers on the European roulette is the following:

0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25, 17, 34, 6, 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33, 1, 20, 14, 31, 9, 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26.

American Roulette

The playing circle has 38 numbered cells from zero (0) to 36 plus double zero (00). Zero and double zero are neither black no red. The location of the bets on the American table is no the same as in European table. Next to the columns located in front of the correspondent numbers the fields with bets on dozens are located. The first dozen is 1-12, the second dozen is 13-24, the third dozen is 25-36. Then the fields with bets on the “simple chances” are located. The cells with zero and double zero are situated at the top part of the columns. The fields for the bets on the columns are situated at the bottom of the columns and signed according to the payment of these bets. These fields are concerned to the all 12 numbers located in the column above them. The sequence of numbers on the American roulette is the following:

0, 28, 9, 26, 30, 11, 7 , 20, 32, 17, 5, 22, 34, 15, 3, 24, 36, 13, 1 , 00, 27, 10, 25, 29, 12, 8 , 19, 31, 18, 6, 21, 33, 16, 4, 23, 35, 14, 2.

Verbal Bets

Some casinos offer their players to make verbal bets “Neighbors”, “Sectors” (Zero Spiel, Voisins de Zero, Orphelins, Tier), “Complete”.

“Neighbors”

The player makes the bet to the one of the numbers of trek. The trek is the projection of the roulette and is situated next to the playing field. This means that the player makes the bet to the five numbers: directly to the number of the bet and to the two numbers-neighbors at the left and to the two numbers-neighbors at the right. In case the number of these fives under the bet occurs the dealer puts 1/5 of the bet into the playing field to the won number and pays it in correlation of 35:1. The rest part of the bet loses.

“Sectors”

This bet gives the possibility to the player to cover all the numbers of one of the fourth circle’s sectors by the minimal quantity of chips.

Zero Spiel  The sector contains 7 numbers. The bet to this sector has to be multiplied to the 4 chips.

Orphelins  The sector contains 8 numbers. The bet to this sector has to be multiplied to the 5 chips.

Voisins de Zero The sector contains 17 numbers. The bet to this sector has to be multiplied to the 9 chips.

Tier  The sector contains 12 numbers. The bet to this sector has to be multiplied to the 6 chips.

Complete

The Complete bet means the full filling of one of the numbers. It means the maximum bet containing the bet to the chosen number and the bet to the all splits, streets, fours and six-lines including the chosen number. The win is paid as the sum of all kinds of bets.
